History

The Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America (RPCNA) is a long time resident in North America, having been established by Scottish Covenanters in 1743. The Covenanters held a strong view of Christ’s Kingship of the nations, and as such have always promoted freedom of worship and justice for the oppressed. The RPCNA was a vocal proponent of abolishing slavery in America in the mid-1800’s. Today, the RPCNA continues to raise its voice in defense of the unborn, Biblical marriage, and persecuted Christians around the globe.

What We Believe

We are a confessional church, meaning that we have taken the time to carefully discuss and document what it is that we believe. That discussion has taken place in the Christian church over the last 2,000 years, and we believe that the truth of God’s Word is best summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Shorter Catechism and Larger Catechism. In addition to adhering to the Westminster Confession, the RPCNA holds to the Testimony of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, which expounds on these beliefs as they apply in our modern age. These confessions, however, are subordinate to God’s Word, which is the final arbitrator of all matters of faith and life.

Associations

The RPCNA is a member of the North American Presbyterian & Reformed Council (NAPARC), and we enjoy regular fellowship with the other NAPARC congregations in the Rochester area.
